Renesas RA Microcontrollers
Renesas RA MCUs deliver the ultimate combination of optimized performance, security, connectivity, peripheral IP, and an easy to use Flexible Software Package (FSP) to address the next generation of embedded solutions. Designing with RA MCUs makes it easy for embedded engineers to develop Internet of Things (IoT) edge devices for industrial and building automation, metering, healthcare, and home appliance applications.
The first-generation RA devices incorporate a selection of hardware-based security features, from simple AES acceleration to fully integrated crypto subsystems (Secure Crypto Engines, or SCEs) that are isolated within the MCU. The RA6 Series also offer the added benefit of NIST CAVP certification plus PSA Level 1 Certification. Future RA devices will further expand the MCU security capabilities with the addition of next generation SCEs, Arm®v8 M TrustZone®, and Trusted Firmware M, validated by additional NIST and PSA certifications. The combination of NIST CAVP certifications for functional correctness combined with the holistic perspective offered by PSA certification gives Renesas customers an unprecedented level of assurance and confidence for developing their secure product for the connected world.

Renesas Synergy™ Microcontrollers
The Renesas Synergy MCUs, forming the basis of the Synergy Platform, provide hardware security features previously available only in dedicated Secure Element chips that were developed for specialized, highly secure identity applications (e.g. SIM cards, VPN tokens, etc.) The MCU's high level of integration eliminates the need for another chip, a socket, and a communications bus (I2C bus). This reduces the size, complexity, power consumption, and cost of the circuit board.
