Standalone mode allows a user app to run on the Wi-Fi MCU. Attached mode lets the Wi-Fi MCU handle connectivity for another MCU. Memoryless radio-co-processor (RCP) mode operates without onboard memory.

Wi-Fi 6 for IoT

Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) introduces major enhancements to Wi-Fi technology, of which a few are key improvements for IoT. Target wake time (TWT) offers enhanced power-save capabilities, extending sleep duration for always-connected devices, with tighter power-save interoperability between AP and devices. Wi-Fi 6 also reduces latency with OFDMA, scheduled access, TWT, and multi-user access for better QoS.
