Overview

Description

The ability to quickly check and monitor real-time data and patient vitals in medical settings is crucial for delivering quality care and improving clinical efficiency. This bedside monitoring system is a scalable platform suitable for both cost-optimized MCU-based implementations and high-performance MPU-based implementations with advanced Edge AI applications. Various medical sensor probes can be connected directly or via an isolated link for enhanced patient protection, allowing caregivers to monitor and display readings on the bedside monitor. A wide range of connectivity options, including wired Ethernet and wireless Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE) or Wi-Fi®, enables integration with back-end systems for remote monitoring and advanced notifications to ensure quick response times. Combined with the bedside monitor power supply and medical sensor probes, this design provides a complete patient monitoring and care system.

System Benefits:

  • Scalable architecture is suitable for diverse needs and applications:
    • Cost-optimized, high-performance MCU enables high-resolution TFT LCD with large on-chip memory and multiple high-throughput memory interfaces.
    • High-performance MPU enables rich HMI functions, including graphics engines (GPUs), video codecs, and multi-screen full HD output, while enabling simultaneous HMI and edge computing functions.
  • Various connectivity options range from wired Ethernet to wireless Bluetooth LE or Wi-Fi, with security features such as WPA/WPA2 Enterprise and Personal, WPA2-SI, WPA3-SAE, and OWE to protect sensitive health data.
  • Readily available partner modules for processors, including SMARC modules or OSM, simplify design and speed up development with integrated power management, clocking, and memory on ready-to-use SoMs.
