Overview
Description
The RAA306012 Renesas Solution Starter Kit (RTK0EM00F0S00020BJ) is used to evaluate a BLDC motor system using the RAA306012 3-phase smart gate driver and RX13T and RL78/G1F microcontrollers (MCUs). It consists of an evaluation board with the RAA306012 mounted, a control board with the RX13T 32-bit MCU, a control board with RL78/G1F multifunctional MCU, a small 24V motor, and a connecting cable.
The RX13T and RL78/G1F control boards are initially equipped with sample code. The RX13T board is written with the sensorless vector control firmware (FW), and the RL78/G1F board is written with the 120-degree conducting control using Hall sensors FW. When using the RX13T board, basic evaluation of motor control by sensorless vector control is possible simply by connecting a 24VDC power supply and the attached motor. The MCUs' operating voltages are selectable 3.3V or 5V. In addition, it is possible to connect and evaluate a motor and MOSFET prepared by the user.
BLDC motors have different control requirements than standard brush motors.
Features
- Easy to start motor control evaluation with the RAA306012
- The reference firmware is written to the control board of the set. By connecting the attached small motor to the board and supplying power, evaluation can be started immediately.
- Board with high expandability and operability (160mm × 210mm)
- The board is easy to operate, and switches, potentiometers, LEDs, and thermistors are mounted; their functions can be used by using the user program.
- Connectable to the external MOSFET board
- By setting the selection resistors, it is possible to select a mounted MOSFET and an external MOSFET
- Various sample code is available for basic motor drive
- Sample code of basic control required for BLDC motor control can be downloaded from the website
- Sensorless vector control
- Sensorless 120-degree conducting control
- 120-degree conducting control using Hall sensors
