Description
The RAA2P4520 is a high-speed, magnet-free inductive position sensor IC designed for absolute rotary position sensing in safety-critical automotive motor control applications. It operates on the principle of eddy currents, detecting the position of a simple metallic target moving above a set of coils, consisting of one transmitter coil and four receiver coils.
This configuration enables precise and redundant measurement of two independent angles. The device supports a high-speed single-wire UART interface with data rates up to 2 Mbit/s, as well as a 14-bit SENT output, offering flexible and efficient communication with automotive ECUs.
With support for safety requirements up to ASIL-D, the RAA2P4520 is ideally suited for demanding applications such as traction motor position sensing, starter generators, brake booster motor position sensors, electric power steering (EPS), steering angle and torque sensors, and front and rear wheel actuators.
