Overview
Description
The system uses a high-performance, magnet-free inductive position sensor IC for accurate and contactless position sensing. It operates on the principle of eddy currents, using a simple conductive target and a set of transmitter and receiver coils to determine position. The sensor supports digital interfaces such as SENT and high-speed UART. It features a dual-coil architecture for enhanced accuracy and noise immunity, making it ideal for applications such as steering angle sensing, linear or arc motion detection, and other automotive or industrial uses. This system offers a robust, compact, and magnet-free alternative to traditional position sensors.
System Benefits:
- Designed for harsh environments and extreme temperatures
- Immune to magnetic stray fields—no magnetic shielding required
- ISO 26262 compliant, fulfilling FuSa requirements up to single-chip ASIL-D at the system level
- Digital output via 14-bit SENT or high-speed UART
- AEC-Q100 Grade 0 qualified for -40 °C to +160 °C operation
- Automatic gain control (AGC) compensates for air-gap variations
- Built-in protection against overvoltage (±18V), reverse polarity (±18V), ESD, and short circuit
