Received “AA” MSCI ESG Rating
For the first time, Renesas received an “AA” ESG rating from Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI). AA is the second highest rating given by MSCI ESG Research, a global provider of in-depth research, ratings and analysis of the environmental, social and governance (ESG) related business practices (announced on January 27, 2023).
MSCI ESG Research assesses and rates global public and a few private companies on a scale of AAA (leader) to CCC (laggard), according to exposure to industry-specific ESG risks and the ability to manage those risks relative to peers. Since the official launch of the Sustainability Promotion Office in 2020, Renesas has made significant progress on the MSCI ESG Rating with a score improving from B (2020) to BBB (2021) to AA (2022).

Triple ESG Index Inclusion by FTSE Russell
For three consecutive years, Renesas has been included in three indices, “FTSE4Good Index Series,” “FTSE Blossom Japan Index,” and “FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index” for our outstanding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices (Originally announced on September 16, 2022).
The three indices are provided by FTSE Russell, a subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange Group, and used by a wide variety of market participants to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products. The FTSE Blossom Japan Index and FTSE Blossom Japan Sector Relative Index are adopted as benchmarks of ESG passive funds by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF), one of the world’s largest pension funds.

Received the highest “Gold” rating for PRIDE Index 2024 for three consecutive years
Renesas has been awarded the highest "Gold" rating in the Pride Index 2024 for three consecutive years (2022-2024). The index, established by work with Pride in in 2016, evaluates workplace initiatives for LGBTQ+ and other sexual minorities at corporations and organizations in Japan.
We continue to expand our LGBTQ+ initiatives by a variety of programs and events. We reinforced a non-discriminatory benefits policy and provided educational programs and harassment prevention for all employees globally. Most recently, we celebrated the Diversity Awareness Month in October and hosted multiple events that focused on unconscious biases and gender stereotypes in the workplace as well as physical and mental well-being. Renesas also founded the “Renesas Pride” employee resources group that offers support and networking opportunities for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies.
Selected as a member of the MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index
In June 2021, Renesas became a member of the MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index, established by MCSI, an index made up of diverse companies, for the first time. The MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index was created to support institutional investors looking for exposure of companies promoting gender diversity and is made up of the top 700 Japanese companies by market capitalization.

Renesas has earned regard externally for its environmental, social and governance (ESG) initiatives around the world.
Selected as a member of the SNAM Sustainability Index
Renesas became a member of the SNAM Sustainability Index, established by Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Asset Management Co., Ltd. (SNAM). The SNAM Sustainability Index is managed with a long-term perspective for pension funds and institutional investors who invest broadly in companies with strong ESG ratings. Every year, approximately 300 stocks achieve an excellent ESG rating.

Recognized as a CDP 2023 Supplier Engagement Leader
Renesas was awarded the highest rating in the CDP 2023 Supplier Engagement Rating (SER), which evaluates how effectively companies are working with their suppliers to measure and reduce climate risks. This recognition was given to the top 8% of companies with the highest scores in four categories (Governance, Targets, Scope 3 Emissions and Value Chain Engagement) in the survey.
Renesas will continue to work with suppliers around the world to reduce CO2 emissions and environmental impact throughout the entire supply chain.

“Best Delivery” Supplier of the Year 2024 by HARMAN International
Renesas been named 2024 Supplier of the Year for the “Best Delivery” category by HARMAN, an industry-leading automotive technology company. The award recognizes Renesas’ exceptional delivery performance for automotive microcontrollers (MCUs). Renesas was one of the select companies honored with an award from HARMAN in 2024, chosen from over 150 suppliers globally. Every year, HARMAN identifies its top suppliers for their contribution to the company’s success in areas such as product excellence, logistics performance, and reliability.
2024 World Electronics Achievement Award
At the International Integrated Circuit Exhibition and Conference (IIC Shenzhen 2024) in China in November 2024, Renesas team participated in the Global CEO Summit and 2024 World Global Electronics Achievement Awards ceremony event. We received the most prestigious “Electronic Company of the Year” award for our strong technical strengths and outstanding market performance. As we continue to expand our business globally and diversify our capabilities to make our customers’ lives easier, our complete, easy-to-use development platform from hardware to software, remains in high demand in China.
Ranked in Forbes JAPAN “Top 100 Inclusive Company Ranking”
Renesas was ranked in the “Inclusive Company Ranking” by Forbes JAPAN, the Japanese edition of the world-famous business magazine Forbes (scope: all 1,839 companies listed in the Prime Market of Tokyo Stock Exchange; ranked 8th in the “Stakeholder Capitalism” segment).

2024 Electronik Products of the Year Awards
Renesas has won two "Elektronik Products of the Year" awards in 2024, hosted by Germany’s prestigious electronics magazine, Electronik. Both R9A06G150 RISC-V MCU ASSP for voice and sound triggered HMI systems and R-Car Open Access Platform (RoX) for software-defined vehicles are recognized for their technical excellence and their impact on next-generation system development.
2024 Elektra Awards
Renesas is honored to have won the 2024 Elektra Award in the automotive category with our RAA279974 four-channel AHL video decoder for economical surround view. Hosted by Electronics Weekly, Elektra Awards are a prestigious industry event that recognizes and celebrates exceptional achievements, innovation, excellence, and transformative impact within the electronics industry.
Electronics Industry Awards 2024
Two Renesas products were named the Products of the Year at The Electronics Industry Awards 2024. Our RA8 Series MCUs were named the Embedded Solution Product of the year and our DA14592 SoC won the Internet of Things Product of the Year. In addition, our AI Workbench was recognized as Highly Commended in the Engineering Development Design Tool category. These recognitions highlight our innovation excellence and our commitment to our Purpose and developing products “To Make Our Lives Easier.”
Ofweek Auto Technology Award
Renesas’ R-Car Gen 5 won the "Ofweek 2024 Cabin-Driver Technology Breakthrough Award" for its outstanding performance. Relying on chiplet technology, the R-Car Gen 5 SoC built by Renesas can be customized according to system requirements to support different use cases, easily meeting the diverse needs of vehicle levels and providing intelligent technology. Its flexible customization, high performance, and high integration also provide strong technical support for automakers, accelerating the pace of the automotive industry toward intelligent vehicles and networking.
Ofweek AI innovative award
Renesas won the "OFweek 2024 AI Industry Outstanding Innovation Product Award" for the outstanding performance and industry contribution of the RZ/V2H. Renesas' RZ/V2H microprocessor is leading the revolution of edge AI devices with its breakthrough performance and AI inference performance of its DRP-AI3 accelerator. The integrated innovation of this microprocessor not only provides powerful real-time control capabilities for the development of autonomous robots but also promotes the industry to move toward more compact, low-cost, and high-reliability system design with its low power consumption advantage.
G2 Best CAD & PLM Products 2024
Altium Designer and Altium 365 received recognition as G2 Best CAD & PLM products in 2024. Industries across various disciplines such as manufacturing, engineering and design, simulation and more use CAD and PLM software to create, analyze and/or modify 2D or 3D models in a digital environment. To qualify for the best CAD and PLM software list, products must be listed under one or more of the CAD & PLM categories.
TrustRadius 2025 Buyer’s Choice Award
Altium 365 was recognized as a TrustRadius 2025 Buyer’s Choice Award winner. Requirements for qualifying for the 2025 Buyer’s Choice Award included 10+ new reviews between January 1, 2024 and September 26, 2024, for evaluation purposes. Within those reviews, at least 75% of reviewers selected the product as having the best capabilities, value for price, and customer relationships.
