Description

System-on-Module (SoM) systems are compact, ready-to-use processor modules that have gained popularity across various industries due to their ability to significantly shorten development cycles for embedded systems, enabling faster time to market with reduced overall project costs. SoMs that support multiple cores, high-performance graphics, and robust wireless protocols are in high demand for applications such as smart displays, smart cities, and industrial applications where real-time communication and processing are crucial.

This scalable human machine interface (HMI) Smart Mobility Architecture (SMARC) SoM design provides an optimized power and timing tree for MPUs that drive displays (HDMI and LVDS). It combines multi-core processors with high-performance graphics and hardware support for video encoding/decoding. The inclusion of wireless protocols (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth®) and Gigabit Ethernet ensures comprehensive connectivity, while long-term security support and real-time patches for the CIP Linux kernel provide designers with peace of mind regarding system reliability.

  • Powerful MPUs on Arm® Cortex®-A53 and Arm® Cortex®-A57 cores, 2/4GB LPDDR4, and 32GB eMMC Flash deliver high-performance multi-core processing and advanced graphic capabilities, enabling complex HMI applications.
  • High performance with up to 8 cores, PowerVR 3D graphics, H.265 playback, and H.264 recording/playback supports demanding multimedia applications.
  • Error Correction Code (ECC) for internal L1 and L2 cache, and ECC for external DDR memory interfaces ensure data integrity and system stability.
  • Super Long-Term Support (SLTS) with 10 years of security maintenance, real-time patches for the CIP kernel, and Verified Linux Package (VLP) reduces maintenance costs and extends product life.
