As EV platforms transition to higher power and 800V+ battery architectures, conventional two-level traction motor inverters face increasing challenges related to efficiency, EMI, NVH, and thermal performance. The three-level T-type traction motor inverter addresses these limitations by generating cleaner output voltage waveforms with reduced dv/dt and lower harmonic content. By combining advanced automotive-grade control with high-speed bidirectional switching elements in the neutral leg, it enables improved efficiency, smoother motor operation, and reduced switching losses. This enhances drivability while simplifying EMC compliance and reducing stress on motor insulation and system components.
