Testing applies bursts of high-amplitude, short rise-time pulses at repetition rates of 5kHz and 100kHz, simulating real-world electrical noise. The transceivers maintain normal operation and recover quickly after EFT events, confirmed by both laboratory oscilloscope measurements and automated parametric tests. The devices withstand EFT voltages up to 5kV, achieving the highest IEC special test level, ensuring robust performance in noisy industrial environments. Detailed test setups, waveforms, and results validate their high immunity and reliability under fast transient disturbances.

- Application NotePDF 513 KB an1991 Mar 06, 2018AI-generated Summary: The document explains the design of LED drive circuits for high-speed digital optocouplers in RS-485 interfaces, focusing on common-mode rejection (CMR) improvement by balancing impedance with two resistors. It details an isolated RS-485 interface using PS9924 optocouplers and ISL3155 transceivers, highlighting dominant/recessive mode operation and bus arbitration. It provides calculations for current setting resistors and collector resistors to optimize performance, minimize propagation delay, and reduce pulse width distortion for reliable data transmission up to 10Mbps.
- Application NotePDF 826 KB an1990 Jan 26, 2018AI-generated Summary: J1708 messages consist of Message Identification characters, data characters, and a checksum, with lengths from 2 to 21 characters. Each character uses 10 bits following the 8-N-1 UART format. Messages have assigned priorities affecting bus access time, where higher priority messages access the bus faster. Collision detection occurs when multiple nodes transmit simultaneously, triggering retry procedures. Modern microcontrollers like Renesas RL78 support fault-protected bus nodes using transceivers such as the ISL32455E, which offers high immunity to overvoltage and wide common-mode voltage range protection.View More (11)
