Overview
Description
The RL78/G24 Interleaved Power Factor Correction (PFC) + LLC 400W is a development and evaluation kit for digital power control using the RL78/G24 microcontroller, a low‑power 16‑bit MCU designed for real‑time control applications. A single MCU controls both the PFC stage and dual‑channel LLC resonant converters, enabling an efficient and compact digital power solution.
By combining RL78 low‑power technology with optimized pulse‑width modulation (PWM) control and flexible operating‑mode switching, the reference design achieves high peak efficiency (greater than 95%), excellent light‑load efficiency (greater than 90%), and ultra‑low standby power consumption (less than 0.3W at a 0.15W load).
Dedicated digital power control hardware enables complex control sequences and high‑precision PWM operation that are difficult to implement with analog methods. This simplifies compliance with energy‑efficiency regulations while reducing overall system cost through lower heat dissipation.
