AI-generated Summary: The RL78/G23 hardware design guide details essential hardware design considerations including typical circuit schematics, power supply circuits, oscillator circuits, I/O port recommendations, A/D converter notes, and on-chip debug circuits. It emphasizes proper component selection and placement, such as bypass capacitors with good frequency characteristics, and wiring patterns for power supply pins to ensure stable operation. The guide also covers power supply timing requirements, reset pin usage, and external component recommendations to optimize device performance and reliability. It includes a minimum external components list and cautions on unused pin connections and package-specific soldering instructions.
Application Note PDF 1.03 MB 日本語
AI-generated Summary: The RL78/G24 CPU and Flexible Application Accelerator (FAA) share control of the A/D converter to enhance system performance. The FAA executes 32-bit arithmetic operations in a single cycle and can directly access peripheral functions, including the A/D converter, timers, and serial units. Peripheral functions can be allocated between the CPU and FAA via the address bus select register (ADBSEL), enabling efficient resource sharing. This setup improves processing speed and system efficiency by offloading tasks from the CPU to the FAA. Detailed hardware configurations, software settings, and sample codes support implementation and evaluation.

AI-generated Summary: The RL78/G24 A/D converter operates in advanced mode disabled, supporting software and hardware trigger no-wait modes for analog-to-digital conversion. It alternately converts internal reference voltage and analog input signals, storing results in internal RAM with 12-bit resolution. The converter uses AVREFP and AVREFM as reference voltages, supports one-shot select mode, and enables A/D conversion end interrupts. Detailed usage examples include software trigger no-wait mode with internal reference voltage and hardware trigger no-wait scan mode. The document provides hardware configurations, software settings, flowcharts, and sample code to implement these functions effectively.
Application Note PDF 1.14 MB 日本語
AI-generated Summary: The RL78/G24 A/D converter advanced mode enables conversion of up to four analog input signals with different triggers assigned per channel. It supports simultaneous sampling of up to three channels and sequential conversions triggered by hardware or software. Operating at a maximum clock frequency of 48 MHz, it features one-shot conversion and no-wait modes. Interrupt requests can be generated individually per channel after conversion. The document details functional comparisons between advanced and disabled modes, usage examples, hardware configurations, software settings, and sample code for effective implementation.

AI-generated Summary: The document explains how to output three PWM waveforms with 100 µs periods using the RL78/G24 timer RD2 in timer mode. It details the configuration of timer registers and pins to generate PWM signals with duty cycles of 75%, 50%, and 25% on TRDIOB0, TRDIOC0, and TRDIOD0 pins respectively. The PWM period and waveform timing are calculated based on a 96 MHz clock source. The document also describes the interrupt handling and register operations involved in PWM output generation.
Application Note PDF 630 KB 日本語
AI-generated Summary: The document explains how to generate PWM waveforms using buffer operation in PWM mode of Timer RG2 on the RL78/G24 microcontroller. It details the method to output a 100μs period PWM signal with sequential duty cycle changes from 90% down to 0% and back up to 90%, triggered by compare match interrupts. The document covers hardware and software configurations, including timer settings, buffer register usage, interrupt handling, and duty cycle change processing with timing diagrams and sample code. It provides comprehensive guidance for implementing and modifying PWM output using Timer RG2.
Application Note PDF 566 KB 日本語
AI-generated Summary: The Timer RG2 in Phase Counting Mode detects phase differences between external signals on TRGCLKA and TRGCLKB pins, counting up or down accordingly. A valid edge on the TRGIDZ pin clears the TRG counter and triggers an interrupt that toggles the P30 port pin. The TRG counter starts at 0000H, counts based on specified conditions, and clears on a rising edge detected at TRGIDZ. This setup enables precise phase difference measurement and port control through interrupt-driven toggling.
