Overview
Description
This system enables early fire prediction by detecting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and carbon monoxide (CO), providing a proactive alternative to traditional smoke detectors that only activate once a fire is already in progress, often too late for safe evacuation. During a fire, VOCs are typically released first as materials begin to overheat and decompose, followed by the production of CO as combustion intensifies. By analyzing data from both VOC and CO sensors, the system minimizes false alarms and enhances reliability. In addition to triggering audible alerts through a buzzer, it can send real-time notifications via Bluetooth® to smartphones, enabling remote monitoring of unoccupied areas such as server rooms or storage facilities.
System Benefits:
- Accurate fire prediction using VOC and CO sensors, with the CO sensor provided by Figaro, a silicon partner.
- Dual alert system with a buzzer and smartphone notifications via Bluetooth.
- USB-enabled battery charging with an ultra-low IQ PMIC.
