Description

RZ/T2N is a high-performance microprocessor (MPU) providing high application processing performance, high-precision real-time control, and Industrial Ethernet on a single chip. It provides the processing power and peripheral functions required for industrial robots, motion controllers, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and multi-axis servo drives.

RZ/T2N is equipped with dual Arm® Cortex®-A55 CPU cores (1200 MHz) for application processing and two Arm Cortex-R52 CPU cores (800 MHz) for real-time control. The rich motor control peripheral functions are capable of controlling motors of up to 4 axes with low-latency access from the Cortex-R52 CPU. RZ/T2N can also support network functions compatible with Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) and various industrial Ethernet protocols, including EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET RT/IRT. Industrial Ethernet redundancy protocols (HSR/PRP/DLR/FRER) are also supported. With various features such as LPDDR4 memory interface supporting on-the-fly encryption/decryption, PCIe Gen2 interface, xSPI interface, and SD/eMMC/NAND controller, RZ/T2N supports application-rich operating systems such as Linux and can be utilized in various use cases.

RZ/T2N enables multi-axis motor control with industrial Ethernet on a single chip. It contributes to simplifying system configurations with a reduction of the components in the bill of materials (BOM) for the development of a wide range of industrial equipment, such as industrial robots, servo drives, and motion control systems.
