Bluetooth Low Energy Audio Player

Overview

Description

As wired audio systems become less favored in modern setups, wireless Bluetooth® audio has become the standard, offering consumers greater mobility, cross-device compatibility, and modern features like audio sharing and multi-stream support for seamless audio across multiple devices.

This Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) audio player is a modular and easily integrable system that delivers high-quality sound with ultra-low power consumption. With voice activation and detection, users can seamlessly switch between apps or take calls for hands-free control. This makes the system ideal for applications such as smart helmets, where compact design and hands-free operation are critical, and voice-controlled speakers, which require constant voice tracking and low power consumption.

System Benefits:

  • Ultra-low power design featuring one of the lowest power Bluetooth audio SoCs in the smallest available footprint—ideal for compact and space-constrained designs.
  • Audio codec with exceptionally low always-on power consumption (650µW) extends battery life in "always-on" mode, enabling constant tracking and instant recognition of voice commands.
  • Flexible power architectures:
    • Variant A power system: Boost converter with ultra-low (35µA) quiescent current and a battery charger IC that protects against overcharge/discharge for extended operational life.
    • Variant B power system: NFC-enabled power management system supports wireless charging and bi-directional communication for next-generation embedded audio devices.
