Description

The ARD-AUDIO-DA7212 is an audio shield module that can be used with several MCU development platforms due to its compatibility with the Arduino™ R3 pin layout. The audio shield can be used with commercially available development platforms such as NXP's Freescale "Freedom", Intel's "Galileo", Microchip's "chipKIT", and Arduino. The ARD-AUDIO-DA7212 shield features the DA7212 audio codec.

The DA7212 is an ultra-low power audio codec ideal for standalone audio/video digital processors, IC recorders, and many other portable applications. The audio front end simultaneously supports stereo FM line input with four analog (or two analog and two digital) microphones with two independent microphone biases. Comprehensive analog mixing and bypass paths to the output drivers are available. The headphone output is true-ground Class G with an integrated charge pump. There is also a differential Class AB speaker driver that can serve as a mono lineout.

Features

  • DA7212 two-channel audio codec with capless headphone driver for portable media players
  • 3.5mm stereo AUX input jack socket
  • Smartphone-compatible headset connection on a 4-pole, 3.5mm jack socket
  • Interchangeable GND and MIC routing to the smartphone jack allows multiple headsets to be supported
  • Compatible with MCU development platforms based on the Arduino R3 pin layout

AI-generated Summary: Audio playback of ADPCM data stored in NOR FLASH is achieved using the I2S master function on the RL78/G23 microcontroller. The system integrates NOR FLASH control via the Serial NOR Flash Memory Control Module Software Integration System (SIS) and uses M3S-S2-Tiny middleware for ADPCM encoding and decoding. The I2S communication supports PCM format with sampling frequencies of 8 kHz to 22.05 kHz and 16-bit data size. The document details hardware and software configurations, including pin usage, commands for writing and reading NOR FLASH, error handling, and flow charts for key functions. It also covers audio playback methods, middleware integration, and sample code for implementation.

  3. DA7212 power consumption

Hello. I'm evaluating the DA7212 (ARD-AUDIO-DA7212) for a PoC and I've come across some issues regarding power consumption. The codec is hooked to a nRF5340 and receives a 12.288 Mhz clock via it's MCLK pin (from the MCU). The LDO on the board has ...
