Overview
Description
This modular electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) system simplifies development and accelerates deployment of smart electric vehicle (EV) chargers. Our controller board stacks over a power board and supports flexible 1-phase to 3-phase charging up to 22kW. We integrate Wi-Fi, Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE), NFC, and optional Ethernet to meet diverse connectivity needs. By using high-voltage AC/DC, we eliminate optocouplers and reduce system complexity. Our dual-bank flash MCU enables secure OTA updates with rollback, helping developers maintain reliability while scaling efficiently.
Features
- Supports flexible configurations for 1-phase to 3-phase charging systems for power up to 22kW.
- MCU supports dual-flash bank operation, allowing safe over-the-air (OTA) updates and fallback.
- High-voltage AC/DC eliminates the need for optocouplers, simplifying the system architecture.
Applications
Videos & Training
Renesas understands that ensuring chargers must work reliably across various site conditions and connectivity types can often lead to integration headaches. That's exactly why we've put together this demonstration video, showcasing our customized open-source SteVe software stack, designed to support a modular set of communication protocols. This approach guarantees that you can test your Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) connectivity in a wide range of environments, including those challenging rural areas with limited infrastructure, to get you to market more quickly.
