Overview
Description
400ZR is an interoperable optical networking standard developed by the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) to simplify high‑capacity data transport between data centers. Designed for efficiency, it enables seamless delivery of 400GbE traffic over Data Center Interconnect (DCI) links targeting distances of at least 80km. This helps cloud providers, colocation networks, and service operators scale bandwidth without increasing system complexity. Its compact, low‑power architecture supports both Quad Small Form Factor Pluggable Double Density (QSFP‑DD) and Octal Small Form Factor Pluggable (OSFP) modules, allowing easy integration into routers and switches while reducing power consumption, equipment footprint, and overall network cost.
System Benefits:
- 120MHz MCU and high‑performance driver support a compact control architecture, ensuring responsive management of 400ZR optical functions.
- Efficient synchronous buck converter and PMIC minimize power loss and board area, enabling reliable operation in space‑constrained QSFP‑DD and OSFP modules.
