Impact of the June 16 Earthquake in Southern Ibaraki Prefecture on Renesas Operations

June 17, 2026

A magnitude 5.5 earthquake, measuring lower 5 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale, struck southern Ibaraki Prefecture at 19:46 on June 16 JST.

There was no damage to the buildings, utilities, or manufacturing equipment at Renesas' Naka Factory (Ibaraki Prefecture) or Takasaki Factory (Gunma Prefecture), both located near the epicenter. Both factories continue to operate normally with no impact on production.

As of 10:00, June 17 JST, we are assessing the impact of the earthquake on our overall supply chain, including suppliers and partner companies. We will make further announcements if we confirm any incidents that may impact Renesas’ business operations.
