Remote I/O enables master devices such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to control the input and output of data from a remote location via network. The input and output signals can be either digital or analog. Customers are increasingly transitioning from older industrial protocols based on RS-485 and RS-232 serial communication to Ethernet-based industrial protocols. The R-IN32 Series of multiprotocol communication ICs are single-chip devices that support both types of industrial networks. The remote I/O solution kit package includes circuit diagrams, sample software and an I/O module. It enables customers to reduce the time and resources devoted to the design-related elements in hardware and software development.
