Thermal printers are gaining popularity due to advantages such as low cost, printing speed, graphic capabilities, print quality, and mobility.
Renesas has developed a serial thermal printer mini interface module to provide a high-quality, cost-effective and space-saving thermal printing solution. The module is developed with the RX111 32-bit high-performance, ultra-low power consumption microcontroller (MCU). The device integrates a USB 2.0 host/function controller, On-the-Go (OTG) communication peripheral, USB Battery Charging Specification 1.2 (BC 1.2) and Android Open Accessory (AoA) support. The RX111 series of 32-bit MCUs is available in a wide range of on-chip memory sizes that make them ideal for thermal printer solutions.
