Description
The ZSSC3230 evaluation kit provides the hardware required for the configuration, calibration, and evaluation of the ZSSC3230 capacitive sensor signal conditioner (SSC) IC. A user's PC can communicate with the ZSSC3230 IC mounted on the ZSSC3230 evaluation board via a USB connection. The evaluation kit can connect to a user's capacitive sensor or provide on-board capacitors to simulate input from a capacitive sensor.
The evaluation kit software is available online as a free download.

Features
- I²C communication interface enables quick and easy configuration and calibration of the ZSSC3230 SSC.
- Connections on the ZSSC3230 evaluation board support direct interfacing with a user's sensor module as an alternative to the on-board capacitance simulation circuitry.
- A set of DIP switches on the ZSSC3230 evaluation board controls a capacitance that simulates a sensor signal ranging from 2pF to 30pF, which can be applied to the analog front end of the ZSSC3230 for evaluation of basic features or demonstration of a dry-run calibration.
- Clamshell 24-PQFN socket for the ZSSC3230 IC under test (DUT) facilitates testing of multiple DUTs without soldering.

A brief introduction and overview of IDT's (acquire by Renesas) sensor signal conditioner evaluation kits. Evaluation kits generally consist of three parts: a communication interface board, a device board, and a sensor simulator board - all connected together. A sophisticated software GUI accompanies the kit, enabling an engineer to learn how to use the part rapidly, do quick prototyping, and practice calibrations.
