- Application NoteAI-generated Summary: The document addresses troubleshooting issues in the I2C mode of serial interfaces for various M16C groups. It details common problems such as unexpected interrupts, fast-mode communication failures, bit slippage, and overrun errors. Solutions include verifying interrupt request bits, proper interrupt source switching procedures, and checking digital delay values and register settings. The document also provides application notes and debugging methods to identify interrupt-related issues.
- Application NoteAI-generated Summary: The document explains how to register and uninstall Call Walker within the High-performance Embedded Workshop (HEW). It guides users to launch HEW without opening a workspace, access the Tools Administration menu, and register the Call Walker tool by specifying the registration file path. After registration, Call Walker version 2.3 appears in the menu. Upon uninstalling HEW, users must manually delete the remaining Call Walker directory. It also provides Renesas Electronics website and contact information for support. The revision history notes the first edition release date.
- Application NoteAI-generated Summary: This document provides detailed troubleshooting guidance for clock-related issues in specific MCU groups during development. It covers problems such as CPU clock switching failures, clock oscillation stops, program malfunctions, unexpected resets, and interrupts. The guide explains causes like disabled write operations to protected registers, improper clock settings, and unstable oscillations. It also includes methods for analyzing register settings, clock frequencies, and system behavior to identify and resolve issues effectively.

The guide explains causes like disabled write operations to protected registers, improper clock settings, and unstable oscillations. It also includes methods for analyzing register settings, clock frequencies, and system behavior to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Application NotePDF 360 KB R01AN1649EJ0100 Rev.1.00 Mar 31, 2013AI-generated Summary: The document details the initial settings required for CAN communication, focusing on CAN bit timing for the M16C/50 Series. It explains the structure of each bit in the communication frame, composed of synchronization segment (SS), time segment 1 (TSEG1), and time segment 2 (TSEG2). Adjusting TSEG1 and TSEG2 changes the sampling point timing. The timing unit is time quanta (Tq), influenced by clock frequency and baud rate prescaler. It specifies valid ranges and restrictions for SS, TSEG1, TSEG2, and resynchronization jump width (SJW) to ensure proper synchronization and phase error compensation during communication.View More (101)

(M16C,M32C) Are there any hardware precautions for accurate A/D conversion?
In order to perform A/D conversion, it is necessary to fully charge the internal capacitor, but if the impedance of the A/D conversion target is high, the discharge and charge will take time and the conversion value will not be accurate. For correct A/D ...

What happens if MCU starts operating before oscillation stabilized?
There would be no problem with the CPU after a reset as it operates with the main clock divided-by-8. However, if the clock division ratio is switched to "no division of the main clock", or serial interface or a timer is operated before oscillation is stabilized, the MCU ...

Are the contents of RAM still retained when stop mode resets?
If the Vcc is maintained above the RAM retention voltage VRAM or higher, the contents of the RAM will be retained even when the stop mode is released by reset. Please refer to the Hardware Manual for more details.
