Description

The eMMC/SFMA Extension Board can be used with the RH850 Generation 2 Main Board. It provides an eMMC card interface and a serial memory interface (SFMA) for external NOR or NAND serial flash memory. It is intended for use as an add‑on board and expands the main board’s evaluation capabilities without changing the core hardware configuration.

Features

  • 512Mbit SFMA serial NOR flash memory
  • 4GB eMMC flash memory
  • Each memory can be enabled separately via a jumper

The RH850 Main Board is an expansion board to the RH850 MCU piggyback boards adding multiple communication interfaces. The board includes transceivers for standard interfaces (CAN, LIN, SENT, FlexRay) as well as Pmod ports for extension boards, and provides connectors for add-on boards with high-speed communication interfaces (CAN-XL, Ethernet), for TFT or OLED displays and motor control ports. The main board has a single 12V power supply that can also be used to power connected piggyback boards.

AI-generated Summary: The RH850/F1Kx series integrates a Serial Flash Memory Interface A (SFMA) to connect external NOR or NAND serial flash memories via SPI protocol. SFMA supports SPI operation mode for read/write and an external address space read mode for read-only access. It manages clock supply, reset, and registers to control communication with flash memory. The interface supports 1-, 2-, and 4-bit data buses, with 4-bit recommended for optimal performance. SFMA handles commands, addresses, and dummy cycles for efficient flash memory operations. The document details SFMA configuration, operation modes, signal descriptions, and bit rate calculations.
