Smart Heat Pump

Overview

Description

Heat pumps are one of the most energy-efficient and environmentally friendly solutions for heating and cooling. They extract heat from sources such as air, water, or the ground to increase the temperature of water or air for domestic heating or sanitary hot water. By leveraging the Carnot process (similar to a reversed refrigerator), heat pumps can achieve a coefficient of performance (COP) of up to 400%, delivering significantly more energy than they consume.

This design integrates advanced motor control and optimized power consumption to further enhance efficiency. It also supports additional smart features, increasing its value as an end product when used in conjunction with the Smart Heat Pump Controller design.

System Benefits:

  • Fully integrated, high-performance, and cost-optimized dual motor control system for precise compressor and fan RPM/torque control, with optional AI/ML enhancements (Reality AI).
  • Includes a pressure sensor in the heating/cooling refrigerant to optimize the process for maximum efficiency.
  • Supports optional features such as air quality sensors for O3/NO2, temperature, and humidity monitoring.
  • Offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth®, and optional LTE-M/NB-IoT for seamless IoT communication.
  • Enables parameter exchange with the heat pump via digital I/Os, CAN bus interface, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
  • Features a highly integrated power factor control (PFC) for improved energy efficiency.
