Description

The ISL9237EVAL2Z evaluation board is designed to demonstrate the performance of the ISL9237 buck-boost Narrow Output Voltage DC (NVDC) charger. The default value numbers of the battery in series, the switching frequency, and the adaptor current limit charging function can be programmed by the resistor from the PROG pin to GND. Those values also can be set by SMBus.

The ISL9237EVAL2Z demonstrates the ISL9237's buck-boost NVDC charging capabilities, including support for 1- to 3-cell battery charging from a wide 4V to 20V input range. The board showcases Renesas R3™ Technology for high light-load efficiency, fast transient response, and seamless DCM/CCM transitions, as well as OTG functionality for 2- and 3-cell battery applications. It also highlights the device's SMBus/I²C programmability, enabling configuration of key charging and system parameters such as current limits, system voltage settings, and more.
