Description

The RAA278831 is a highly integrated LCD video processor that integrates many of the features necessary to design an ISO 26262 functional safety ASIL B automotive Heads-Up Display (HUD) system. This includes two LVDS OpenLDI input interfaces, two separate video processing pipes, a versatile On-Screen Display (OSD) that includes both a font-based OSD and a bitmap SPI-OSD, a Q-SPI flash interface, and a dual-channel LVDS OpenLDI output panel interface. The RAA278831 can support inputs with horizontal resolutions up to 2560 and a pixel clock up to 150MHz. The video processing capability of the device includes image mirroring, image adjustment and enhancement, 10-bit gamma, and many more video processing features. In addition, the RAA278831 has image diagnostic capabilities to determine if the input video is flickering, frozen, or corrupted. The RAA278831 feature set, versatility, and ISO 26262 ASIL B functional safety design make it an ideal solution for safety-critical automotive LCD-display applications. The device is available in a 72-lead SCQFN package with an exposed thermal pad.
