Overview
Description
This reference design has a wide input voltage range which supports 4.5V to 40V with 1A to 20A output. It uses a supercapacitor as a backup power supply and offers a solution for battery and electric double-layer capacitor (EDLC) based backup systems.
Features
- The ISL81401 40V bidirectional 4-switch synchronous buck-boost controller can fully extract the power of a supercapacitor (can be as low as 0.3V)
- Buck-boost with electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) backup with one ISL81401
- 100mA to 70mA options are available
