Overview
Description
The smart terminal backup power system supports a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 40V and an output of 1A to 20A. A supercapacitor can replace traditional batteries, which are prone to issues like electrolyte leakage, as a reliable backup power supply.
This system features a buck-boost controller that operates in buck, boost, or buck-boost mode with bidirectional CC/CV mode support, and can replace two-part solutions offered by competitors. The charge time is programmable, and the discharge time is optimized to fully utilize the stored energy. The buck-boost controller maximizes the use of capacitive energy, reducing costs and improving efficiency.
System Benefits:
- The buck-boost controller fully utilizes supercapacitor energy, even at voltages as low as 0.3V.
- Includes a voltage supervisor to monitor power status for reliable operation.
- Supports Nch Power MOSFETs for efficient drive and low heat generation, ensuring optimal performance.
