Description

Waste management systems are transforming from manual methods to automated, data-driven solutions. These systems often encounter inefficiencies in route planning, collection frequency, and inaccurate garbage bin capacity estimates, leading to unnecessary trips, fuel overuse, and suboptimal routes, which increase operational costs and environmental impacts.

This waste management system addresses these issues by integrating weight measurement, accurate garbage bin monitoring, and intelligent route planning into waste collection vehicles. By measuring the weight of garbage cans and combining it with geographical location data, the system optimizes routes for more efficient collection. Precise weight measurement is achieved through an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) integrated into the 32-bit MCU. A low-cost TFT instrument cluster provides real-time vehicle and route status, while non-volatile RAM (NVRAM) and SD cards support mass data storage and backup.
