Overview
Description
Smoke detectors are essential for the early detection of fires, providing homeowners with crucial time to evacuate and call emergency services, thereby reducing the risk of injury or death. This household smoke detector features a highly integrated, low-power analog front-end (AFE) IC and includes all the necessary peripherals and features for a complete smoke detector system based on the photoelectric detection principle. It offers flexible implementation with parameterization capabilities, such as LED-current selection, PGA gain setting, and an integrated battery test feature.
System Benefits:
- The low-power AFE IC includes all necessary peripherals for a photoelectric smoke detector.
- Ultra-low current consumption enables a battery lifetime of over 10 years.
- Requires very few external components, offering a cost-optimized BOM and a small design size compared to discrete designs.
- The highly integrated AFE IC allows the use of two different IR wavelength diodes/photodetectors, enhancing accuracy and ensuring UL217 compliance.
- Utilizes a small pin count and low-cost MCU with DataFlash, enabling non-volatile data storage for alarm counters, operating hours, and more.
- Optional AC mains power supply with a small-sized, low quiescent current (IQ) AC/DC buck regulator.
