The Renesas USB Power Delivery Family provides devices based on USB Power Delivery (USB PD) Standards.
C13 Group is USB Power Delivery Controller based on USB Power Delivery Specification Revision 1.0 (Version 1.3). C13 Group performs negotiation for more current and/or higher voltages over the USB PD cable (Vbus) than are defined in the USB2.0, USB3.0 or BC1.2 specifications, and controls local power source and/or sink circuitry.
C30 Group of USB PD controllers supports the latest USB Power Delivery Specification Revision 3.0 and USB Type-C™ Specification, and intended for use in a wide range of USB PD products employing direct current (DC) power, such as AC adapters, PCs, smartphones, other consumer and office equipment, and toys. The lineup also includes products that support the USB Type-C™ Authentication Specification (C-auth) to enable Device-to-Device Authentication for a safer USB PD eco-system.
U30 Group is power supply IC that supports the Power Rules requirements as defined in USB Power Delivery (USB PD) 2.0 and 3.0 standards. The power supply designers are faced with challenges of supporting multiple voltage levels of the USB PD standards, output voltage switching, and handling large currents. With USB PD Controller (C30 Group), it can be used to implement a high-speed response DC/DC power supply circuit that switches the output voltage between the 5 V, 9 V, 15 V, and 20 V defined in the USB PD 2.0 and 3.0 standards, as well as the 12 V adopted in many DC systems.
Renesas USB Power Delivery Family is the family name which is based on USB Power Delivery (USB PD) Standards. Renesas will line up new products for USB PD Controller to be able to select USB related components by customer easily.
