Dimming System for Monitors

Overview

The requirements for color gamut, brightness, and color switching in displays are becoming increasingly demanding, especially for competitive gaming displays. Renesas' dimming system addresses these needs and includes a quasi-resonant (QR) flyback controller, DC/DC buck converter, LDO, MCU, and backlight control.

System Benefits​:

  • High-performance AC/DC, DC/DC buck, and low dropout voltage regulator (LDO) devices ensure efficient power management.
  • 32-channel, high-precision LED driver with internal current sink, fault interrupt output, and a high dynamic range leverages BoardLED™ digital adaptive switch-mode technology for optimal system efficiency and thermal performance.
  • Entry-level 48MHz Arm® Cortex®-M23 MCU delivers low power consumption and high performance, making it ideal for display control applications.
