説明

The iW3701 integrates a high power factor (PF) boost controller and a high-voltage buck controller into one combo IC for optimal performance in industrial and commercial lighting systems, while optimizing system size and total BOM cost. The IC uses Renesas’ proprietary digital control in both the PFC boost stage and the non-isolated buck stage, enabling high-performance conversion with fast dynamic load response while providing low THD (< 20%) and high PF (> 0.95) over a broad load range. The digital technology also enables true DC dimming, which provides smooth dimming without flicker from 0.0625% to 100% of the brightness range in 0.0625% steps.

System-level features include a unique UART interface for smart applications, allowing the IC to interface directly with an MCU in smart lighting applications such as DALI2 systems. The iW3701 also provides a power meter function that can be communicated over the UART interface directly back to the system MCU.

The dimming function provides two inputs, one for setting the absolute maximum output power and the second as the input for a 3-in-1 dimming interface. The input can take a 0-10 analog input, 0-10V PWM input, or a resistive input to set the dimming percentage relative to the main dimming input that sets the maximum output power.

For isolated applications up to 150W, see the iW3700.
