The ZSSC3018 evaluation kit provides the hardware required for the configuration, calibration, and evaluation of the ZSSC3018 sensor signal conditioner (SSC) IC. A user's PC can communicate with the ZSSC3018 IC mounted on the ZSSC3018 SSC evaluation board through the SSC communication board via a USB connection. The evaluation board can be connected either to a user sensor or to the SSC sensor replacement board (SRB). The SRB serves as a substitute for an actual sensor and can be used for initial calibration or dry-run calibration. On the SRB, the simulated resistive sensor signal is adjusted using a potentiometer. As an alternative, a sensor replacement circuit integrated on the evaluation board can be selected using onboard jumpers.
The boards can also be ordered separately. To facilitate product comparisons, this kit is compatible with selected Renesas devices. Contact your local sales representative for more information.

Evaluation kits generally consist of three parts: a communication interface board, a device board, and a sensor simulator board - all connected together. A sophisticated software GUI accompanies the kit, enabling an engineer to learn how to use the part rapidly, do quick prototyping, and practice calibrations.
