The RTKA96838DE0000BU evaluation board evaluates the performance of the RRB96838. The default value numbers of maximum and minimum output voltages, autonomous charging mode, and the adapter current limit charging function can be programmed by the resistor from the PROG pin to GND. The values can also be set by SMBus.
The RRB96838 is a buck-boost battery charger supporting input voltages up to 23.4V and battery voltages up to 18.3V. The RRB96838 can operate in a direct battery charging mode without a battery FET, or it can operate in narrow-voltage DC (NVDC) charging mode with a battery FET. The direct battery charging mode enables efficient charging for 2-cell to 4-cell batteries, making it ideal for devices like power tools, portable vacuums, drones, robots, and power banks.
