Overview
Description
The RL78/F24 next-generation super-low power automotive microcontrollers are ideal for realizing future highly reliable smart actuators and sensors, as well as low-end body ECUs. As an innovative prolongation of the known RL78/F1x MCUs, the RL78/F24 can cover prospective market requirements. With its increased CPU performance, high-temperature capability, and enhanced peripheral feature set, the RL78/F24 is a perfect fit for various applications.
RL78/F2x products are designed according to ISO 26262 and support functional safety (FuSa) up to ASIL B. They support up to the EVITA-Light security standard or more. An AES crypto module can handle key lengths of up to 256 bits and supports secure boot and authentication. To further boost the calculation performance for BLDC field-oriented control (FOC) motor control and DC/DC control systems, RL78/F2x is equipped with the unique application accelerator IP to offload complex trigonometric and arithmetic processing.
To respond to the E/E automotive architecture trend, the RL78/F24 is equipped with a CAN FD interface. RL78/F2x MCUs are fully hardware and software compatible with RL78/F1x, enabling software reuse.

RL78/F24 Timer configuration
Hello, I am trying to understand the bsps for your processor's Interval Timer. I thought I understood the structure for TAU0 in general, until TAU1 was generated. I decided to create 0th ch and 2nd ch for TAU1 (I am analyzing it). In the 0th channel, it was setting ...

RL78/F24 Enabling 2 interval timers causes repeated resets
Hello Renesas Community, I am using a Renesas RL78/F24 (R7F124FGJ4xFB) and I want to use 2 interval timers. When only 1 timer (TAU0, Channel 1) is enabled for interval-timer operation with the following settings, it works properly. INTTM01 interrupt gets called and my ISR works properly. However ...

RL78/F24 Bootswap-Function issue: Application does not start up
Hi @ all, I encounterd an issue when using the Bootswap-Function on the RL78/F24 controller: I've developed a bootloader that resides in Bootcluster 0 and this should flash an application via CAN to Bootcluster 1.To do this I've used the Flash Driver RL78 Type 02 ...

RL78/F24 Locked
Unfortunately, this parts cannot be fixed anymore. If the FLPEN bit is set to "0" once, the serial programming interface is disabled and cannot be enabled anymore. This is a security feature and is meant to be irreversible.
