Description
RAA230161 allows system manufacturers to quickly and easily implement safe and reliable power supply equipment that is based on the USB PD 2.0 and 3.0 standards.
U30 Group is power supply IC that supports the Power Rules requirements as defined in USB Power Delivery (USB PD) 2.0 and 3.0 standards. The power supply designers are faced with challenges of supporting multiple voltage levels of the USB PD standards, output voltage switching, and handling large currents. With USB PD Controller (C30 Group), it can be used to implement a high-speed response DC/DC power supply circuit that switches the output voltage between the 5 V, 9 V, 15 V, and 20 V defined in the USB PD 2.0 and 3.0 standards, as well as the 12 V adopted in many DC systems.

- White PaperUSB Power Delivery enables up to 100W of bi-directional power transfer, streamlining data and power connections in modern devices. This paper outlines the evolution of the USB standard, explains the benefits of USB Type-C™, and highlights how integrated circuit solutions reduce design complexity and environmental impact.
- Application NoteAI-generated Summary: The document details the operation of the RAA230161GSB power delivery controller system. It explains the connection diagram where the device operates as a slave controlled by a master power delivery controller, receiving 24V input and generating 3.3V for communication. The device has three operation modes—OFF, STBY, and ON—controlled via the EN terminal and I2C signals. Each mode defines the status of internal power, communication availability, and output voltage behavior, with specific signals indicating operational states.
- Application NotePDF 1.45 MB R19AN0045EJ0101 Rev.1.01 May 15, 2018AI-generated Summary: The RAA230161GSB Evaluation Board provides detailed specifications and connection guidelines for power supply and control signals. It supports external or onboard power supplies for VIN (24V) and VDD (3.3V), with selectable jumper settings for each. The board includes terminals for I2C communication, enable control, and output signals. Connection examples illustrate using an AC adapter or external power supplies. Output voltage and current ranges are configurable via initial settings or control tools.
