Overview
Description
The RTKA489204DK0000BU evaluation kit includes eval board, dongle, cables and GUI and is used to evaluate the features of the RAA489204 14-cell battery front end (BFE) IC. Additionally, RTKA489204DE0000BU eval boards can be purchased/added separately if needed for daisy chaining.
The RAA489204 GUI is built on top of Excel using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA 1.00). It is designed to allow users to perform detailed evaluation of the RAA489204 and also includes a simplified demonstration GUI.
The RAA489204 is a daisy-chainable, monolithic, battery monitor IC for 6S to 14S batteries and can be daisy chained for higher voltage, interconnected battery modules, typically used in UPS, energy storage/battery backup/battery based generators.
Features
- Supports both stand-alone and daisy-chained configurations. Daisy chaining requires an additional RTK489204DE0000BU eval board.
- Daisy-chaining with both connector only or wire jumper options
- GUI provided export option for generation of detailed register and/or SPI communications log files
- USB dongle runs HID firmware for driver-less enumeration and communications with Windows platforms
- GUI add-in chart generation tool supports real-time graphing, zoom and export of captured data
- Software provides checksum requirements associated with daisy chain communications
- Kit includes "Battery Emulation" board(s) for cell voltage generation
