Description

The ISL74420SLHDEMO1Z demonstration board is used to demonstrate the stand-alone operation of the ISL74420SLH radiation hardened, quad-output clock fanout IC.

Featuring the hermetic version of the ISL74420SLH, the ISL74420SLHDEMO1Z is an example of a small footprint layout with SMD resistors to provide a user-defined power-up configuration. It is functionally similar to the ISL74420SLHEV1Z evaluation board, which provides mechanical switches for configuration. This eases user experimentation of frequency and delay selections and other configuration options.

Both versions of the ISL74420SLH boards support the I2C interface, which allows for overriding the power-up pin-selected configuration.

Before starting an evaluation, review the ISL74420SLH datasheet for more detailed information about the operation, function, and performance of the device.

Features

  • 0Ω resistors on the underside to select frequency and phase options
  • Top of PCB shows how few components are needed for a complete implementation
  • Perfect to plug into an existing design and provide clocks
  • Provides the ideal clock signals for other boards such as the ISL73847SEHEV3Z
  • Enables I2C access for software control on internal device registers and associated operation
