Description

The ISL73849SLHEV3Z evaluation board demonstrates the performance of a high-current, four-phase power solution built with two ISL73849SLH radiation hardened dual-phase PWM controllers, four ISL73041SEH GaN half-bridge drivers, and sixteen ISL70020SEH 40V GaN FETs. This configuration delivers up to 100A and is optimized for powering the Versal VC1902 VCCINT core rail. The board operates from a 5V PVIN power rail with an auxiliary VDD supply for the controller, driver circuits, and external clock generator. Convenient input/output connectors, accessible test points, and jumper settings provide an intuitive platform for evaluating point-of-load power performance in demanding space-grade applications.

Additionally, the output voltage can be dynamically adjusted from 0.2V to 1.2V by modifying the VREF through PMBus on the fly, enabling flexible evaluation under varying load conditions. When adjusting VREF, always ensure the voltage rating of the installed output capacitors is not exceeded to prevent component damage.

Features

  • On-board 2MHz clock generator for synchronization
  • On-board 50A transient load current generator
  • Power-good (PG) LED indicator
  • Integrated LDO (VCC)
  • Load-line DROOP regulation

Applications

  • Core power (low voltage, high current) applications
