Active Cell Balancing Module for Low Voltage Battery Packs

Overview

This simple and effective active cell balancing module for battery packs can extend the battery system's run time, shorten charge time, and reduce heat compared to passive balancing.

System Benefits:

  • MCU samples voltage and current, up to 6.25Msps 16-bit ADC
  • High-resolution PWM (156ps resolution) controls the voltage after boosting to charge the entire battery pack
  • High input voltage buck with 2 LDOs powers the system
