概要
Sparrow Hawk is a compact and highly expandable edge AI development board. Powered by the Renesas R-Car V4H System-on-Chip (SoC) with 4 Arm® Cortex®-A76 cores and 3 Arm Cortex-R52 cores, along with an integrated Image Signal Processor (ISP), its built-in AI engine delivers up to 30 TOPS (Dense) deep learning performance, while the Imagination Technologies PowerVR AXM-8-256 (GPU) achieves over 150 GFLOPS of computing power.
In addition, as a key feature of the board, it is equipped with DisplayPort, MIPI CSI x 2, MIPI DSI, PCIe M.2 connector, USB 3.0 ports Type-A x 2/Type-C x 2, Ethernet AVB, CAN FD x 2, Audio, MicroSD, and a 40-pin expansion connector, making it a versatile evaluation board suitable for a wide range of use cases. Power is supplied via USB PD, eliminating the need for a dedicated power supply. Industry-standard accessories such as MIPI CSI cameras, DSI displays, and various HATs can be connected directly, allowing developers to leverage existing ecosystems for quick and easy environment setup—from initial evaluation to learning and prototyping.
Furthermore, the software stack is built entirely on open-source components and continuously adopts the latest LTS Linux Kernel. Ongoing updates are also provided for the Yocto BSP, Debian-based BSP, U-Boot, and other components, ensuring the delivery of the latest security patches.
Developers can easily accelerate the development of industrial and embedded AI solutions with up to 30 TOPS of dense AI inference performance, a fully open-source Linux environment, continuous software updates delivering the latest security patches, and a wide range of automotive interfaces, including rich I/O and expansion interfaces.
