Overview

Description

The ZMOD4410-EVK simplifies the evaluation of the ZMOD4410 Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) sensor. This sensor module is supported with the firmware to operate the sensor in multiple modes: IAQ 2nd Gen, Ultra-Low Power mode, and PBAQ1. Depending on the selected mode, the output can be displayed as a raw signal (resistance), a standardized IAQ rating, an absolute TVOC and estimated CO2 concentration, or a relative signal change. To initiate the sensor, simply connect the EVK to a Windows PC via USB and utilize the provided evaluation software.

The ZMOD4410-EVK consists of the following:

  • ZMOD4410 and HS4001 sensor daughterboard
  • Environmental Sensor Communication (ESCom) Board
  • USB Cable
  • Quick Start Guide

Evaluation kit software (GUI) can be downloaded from the Software Downloads section on this page.

  1. PBAQ is a term coined by Renesas and indicates a public building air quality standard, such as WELL or RESET.

Features

  • The kit contains the following:
    • ZMOD4410 and HS4001 sensor assembly on a sensor board (daughter board)
    • Environmental Sensor Communication Board (ESCom) with additional pins to measure power consumption, supply voltage, and GPIO trigger for external devices
    • USB cable
    • Quick Start Guide
  • The hardware is fully functional in all operations using the Environmental Sensor Evaluation Software (ES Eval).

ZMOD4410 TVOC and Indoor Air Quality Sensor Platform Overview

This is a brief overview of the Renesas ZMOD4410 gas sensor platform, which provides best-in-class stability and sensitivity to identify trace gases in various indoor environments. These air quality sensors feature a miniature package with waterproof capability, an integrated ASIC, and a MEMS sensing element comprised of a controlled heater and proven metal oxide (MOx) material. The firmware upgradeable platform makes the ZMOD4410 portfolio capable of providing a variety of measurement options by varying the method of operation or changing the firmware used to interpret the resistance measurements.
