Description
The RA9530 is a highly-integrated single-chip wireless power transmitter/receiver IC (TRx). The device can be configured to receive or transmit an AC power signal through magnetic induction.
The RA9530 integrates a high-efficiency Synchronous Full Bridge Rectifier and control circuitry to modulate the load to send message packets to the Transmitter (Tx) to optimize power delivery. Wireless power transfer is managed by an integrated 32-bit ARM® Cortex®-M0 processor offering a high level of programmability while consuming extremely low standby power. The processor can also control GPIOs to indicate operating and fault modes.
The RA9530 features EEPROM or non-volatile memory that enables customers to customize the design parameters such as default FOD thresholds and implement over-the-air (OTA) control firmware updates. It is available in an ultra-small 48-DSBGA package.

- Application NoteAI-generated Summary: The document provides detailed guidelines for optimizing PCB layout when integrating the RA9530 wireless power TRx IC. It emphasizes component placement based on circuit function—prioritizing power, sensitive, and non-sensitive circuits—to ensure optimal performance and thermal management. Key layout strategies include wide power routing on the IC side, solid ground planes, and minimizing current loop areas to reduce noise and ripple. The document also covers recommended capacitor placement, power schematic examples, and thermal considerations to enhance device efficiency and reliability.

- White PaperPDF 627 KB 7WDXRDKU4E7E-5-61641 May 10, 2017Wireless power transfer uses an air-core transformer with separate transmitter and receiver coils, making accurate performance modeling difficult due to low magnetic coupling and increased losses. This paper addresses simulation challenges and describes methods to approximate circuit behavior. It demonstrates best practices for tuning Qi and PMA inductive resonance circuits to maximize charging efficiency for mobile devices.
