Description
The R8C/M13B Group is supported only for customers who have already adopted these products. The RL78/G1F, RL78/G1G Groups are recommended for new designs.
The R8C/M11A Group and R8C/M12A Group of single-chip microcontrollers (MCUs) incorporate the R8C CPU core, which provides sophisticated instructions for a high level of efficiency. With 1Mb of address space, the CPU core is capable of executing instructions at high speed. In addition, it features a multiplier for high-speed arithmetic processing.
Power consumption is low, and the supported operating modes allow additional power control. These MCUs are designed to maximize EMI/EMS performance. Integration of many peripheral functions on the same chip, including multifunction timer and serial interface, reduces the number of system components. The R8C/M11A Group and R8C/M12A Group include data flash (1KB × 2 blocks).

- Application NoteAI-generated Summary: The document explains how to register and uninstall Call Walker within the High-performance Embedded Workshop (HEW). It guides users to launch HEW without opening a workspace, access the Tools Administration menu, and register the Call Walker tool by specifying the registration file path. After registration, Call Walker version 2.3 appears in the menu. Upon uninstalling HEW, users must manually delete the remaining Call Walker directory. It also provides Renesas Electronics website and contact information for support. The revision history notes the first edition release date.

- Application NoteAI-generated Summary: The document details the standard serial I/O mode serial protocol for the R8C/Mx Series LAxA Group. It covers boot program content including initial settings, communication with a serial programmer, and control commands such as flash programming, erasing, and reading. Communication supports two asynchronous modes: standard serial I/O mode 2 and mode 3, each with defined data formats and pin assignments. The MODE pin selects the communication mode and functions as TXD or RXD in mode 3. Additional pins like RESET, Vcc, Vss, and VREF have specific roles in communication and voltage referencing.
- Application NoteAI-generated Summary: The timer RC waveform output manipulation function fixes the TRCIOB pin output at low during manipulation events and resumes output automatically or by software after cancellation. The waveform output manipulation uses the INT1 pin for event input and P1_7 pin to select the resume method. The EB bit in the TRCOER register controls output enable status. The function operates with PWM mode, using interrupts and specific pin configurations to manage waveform output control effectively.Related Files:
- Application NoteAI-generated Summary: The document explains power control in wait mode for the R8C/M12A MCU group. It details two sample programs demonstrating transitions between low-speed and high-speed on-chip oscillators and wait mode, triggered by interrupts from the INTO pin or timer. Peripheral functions and their applications are listed, along with usage examples. Operation conditions such as clock frequencies and voltages are specified. The document also identifies the pins used, including the INTO interrupt input pin P1_4.Related Files:
- Application NoteAI-generated Summary: The document explains power control in stop mode for the R8C/M12A group. It details how the system monitors an external signal every 10 ms to enter stop mode when the signal is low and uses the falling edge of the INTO pin to resume operation. Three sample programs illustrate different clock mode transitions and stop mode behavior. Peripheral functions like the INTO interrupt and Timer RJ2 support these operations.Related Files:View More (121)
