Get Paid for Developing Application Notes

Thanks for your interest in this opportunity!

Renesas provides an extensive library of GreenPAK application notes, which explain how to use our programmable mixed-signal ICs (GreenPAK, HVPAK, Power GreenPAK, AnalogPAK, Automotive GreenPAK) and load switches (GreenFET).

We are looking for individuals with new ideas for GreenPAK and GreenFET applications who are interested in authoring application notes. To write a good application note, you should clearly define the problem you aim to solve, explain your design in detail, and provide evidence that your design works through verification. Your application note should be a technical document (1,000 - 3,500 words) that describes the application and how it utilizes GreenPAK ICs or GreenFET load switches.

Your paper must focus on providing technical insights and solutions, avoiding any sales-oriented language.

Questions to Guide Authors While Writing

  • What is the technology, and how does it work?
  • What is the service and benefit to the customer?
  • What are the alternatives? If applicable, list the pros and cons of each.
  • What is the implication to each industry segment and industry as a whole, if applicable?

How to Get Started?

  • Download the Go Configure™ Software Hub tool: Use this free tool to create and simulate your design.
  • Explore the GreenPAK Cookbook: This resource contains step-by-step examples, proven circuit designs, and configuration guidelines to help you create effective designs with GreenPAK ICs.

Compensation for Your Paper

  • Application note for less complex designs: $900
  • Application note for higher complexity designs: $1,300
  • Bonus for well-written papers (requiring minimal proofreading): Up to $200

Tips for Writing an Application Note with a High-Complexity Design

  • Utilize more functions and blocks within GreenPAK (or PowerPAK, GreenFET, HVPAK, AnalogPAK) designs.
  • Create a design that addresses a common engineering problem or demonstrates how GreenPAK parts can enhance end applications (e.g., reducing power consumption, minimizing size, etc.).
  • Quantify the benefits where possible (e.g., using GreenPAK instead of discrete components could reduce board space by XX square mm).

Important Note

Ensure your idea is unique and not already covered by an existing GreenPAK design. Applications must demonstrate a sufficient level of complexity. Simple designs or those that merely combine a few basic concepts will not be accepted.

If you have valuable ideas for new application notes, please refer to the Application Note Idea Criteria Checklist to confirm your idea meets all requirements. Outline your idea in detail in a Word document and submit it, along with the design file*, to [email protected].

  1. Our team will review your proposal and notify you if it is accepted or requires revision.
  2. Once your idea is approved, we will provide the necessary IC samples for implementing your design.
  3. You will implement the design, write about it in the application note, and show proof that the design works as you expected.
  4. When we receive the first draft and associated design files, we will issue the first payment.
  5. Our team will review your submission and provide feedback for improvements to the paper and design.
  6. After implementing the feedback, submit the revised version for a final review.
  7. If we approve everything, we will issue the remaining payment.
  8. The final application note will be published on the Renesas website and featured as an article on popular engineering platforms.
