Overview
High-side FET drivers enable efficient, linear switching of power rails in desktop, notebook, and netbook applications by allowing the use of N‑channel MOSFETs instead of traditional P‑channel devices. This approach significantly reduces component count, lowers sleep‑mode power consumption through reduced leakage current, and minimizes PCB area—all while maintaining cost parity with existing solutions.
In addition, high-side FET drivers support load switching with controlled ramp rates or delays, helping products meet current and future Energy Star® requirements without increasing system cost.
