Overview
Description
The IPS2200 is an industrial-qualified, inductive position sensor IC capable of providing the absolute rotor position as sine and cosine. This IC uses the physical principle of Eddy currents to detect the position of a simple metallic target moving above a set of coils, consisting of one transmitter and two receivers. The output interface can be configured as single-ended, for higher system cost effectiveness or differential to better reject common mode disturbers. The IPS2200 can be used for high-speed motor commutation up to 250krpm electrical, in industrial, medical, robotic, and consumer applications.
Stray filed immunity, lower weight, smaller size, and a substantial BOM optimization make the IPS2200 the key element of the Resolver 4.0, a disruptive solution.

testing IPS2200
Hello all, I am a programmer trying to dabble in electronics. I got a junior PCB designer to put an IPS2200 and the generated wire pattern together with an MCU and a motor driver. Some testing and consults later I discovered some big issues with the designer's work. For ...

IPS2200 RA4E1 I2C arbitration error
Hi, Our setup consists of 2 IPS2200 ICs connected to an RA4E1 microcontroller. Each IPS220 uses its own I2C slave address. Reading from the IPS2200 sometimes triggers an arbitration error on the RA4E1 master. I noticed that the IPS2200 briefly releases the data line after the acknowledge bit following the ...
