Description
The FT 6050 Smart Transceiver system on chip (SoC) combines a high-performance Neuron® core with a Free Topology transceiver on a single chip to facilitate the design of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) devices and consolidate smart control networks. The FT 6050 is a key product in the IzoT® platform — the most comprehensive and open control networking platform for the IIoT. The device natively supports both BACnet and LON communications on the same network and offers compatibility with the large installed base of LON and BACnet MS/TP devices, while adding support for LON/IP and BACnet/IP communication. This unique capability enables two of the most popular industrial protocols to communicate simultaneously over the highly reliable, widely adopted and easy to install Free Topology (FT) media. The FT 6050 is designed to deliver unprecedented flexibility and openness while lowering development and device costs in smart buildings and industrial installations.

- Application NotePDF 380 KB Oct 14, 2022AI-generated Summary: The document explains the migration process from legacy FT-X1 and FT-X2 communication transformers to the FT-X3 transformer for Free Topology Smart Transceiver designs. It highlights the discontinuation of older transformers due to unavailable core materials and presents three options for customers, recommending either last-time buy or migration to FT-X3. The FT-X3 transformer fits the same PCB footprint but is taller and uses a patented design with split windings to enhance magnetic noise immunity. The document details connection differences, pin naming changes across transceiver generations, and provides guidance on PCB layout adjustments for a smooth transition.
